Unhealthy lifestyle behaviors are responsible for most chronic diseases. These diseases cause approximately 70 percent of all deaths and up to 75% of all healthcare costs. Lack of physical activity, poor diets and tobacco use are directly responsible for 70-90% of chronic diseases. Bad habits lead to bad health causing companies productivity, healthcare costs and eventually quality of life of employees.
Urbanisation and modern-days kind of work have caused more sedentary lifestyle than ever. Our bodies are designed to move and yet our modern-day living has made us physically move less than we ought to in order to maintain our physical health.

Smokers are 28% more likely to have high presenteeism than non-smokers. Employees with an unhealthy diet were 66% more likely to have high presenteeism than those who regularly ate whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.
Employees who don’t exercise very much were 50% more likely to have high presenteeism than employees who were regular exercisers. These findings demonstrate that poor health behaviors are strongly associated with high levels of presenteeism.

What IS LIF?
Living in Fitness or LIF is an app that aims to encourage employees toward active and healthy living. LIF believes that active lifestyle can be achieved in a fun way through community engagement powered by technology. This is done through challenges that will promote behavior change of the participants which result in long term health improvement. LIF helps employees want to achieve fitness together in the workplace community. One of the main feature of LIF is to allow friends to cheer each other toward achieving fitness together.
